Charge An EV and Appliance With One Outlet

Power Two 240V Devices with a Single Outlet with the Smart Splitter

For the first time ever, there is a smart and safe way to power two 240V devices with a single outlet. A California-based company formed by two Cal Poly graduates called NeoCharge have created the Smart Splitter.

This device can power two devices, whether they are appliances, welders, or electric vehicle (EV) chargers, with a single outlet. Essentially, the Smart Splitter is an intelligent and safe power switch that directs power to the device in need.

Rather than hiring an electrician to wire a new circuit or worse upgrading your home’s electrical panel, the Smart Splitter simply plugs in to an existing 240V outlet to provide two 240V outlets.

Only one of these outlets are powered at a time, however, the Smart Splitter, as the name implies, smartly detects which device needs electricity.

The Smart Splitter Is Great for EV Owners

This is especially great for electric car owners who do not wish to pay hundreds, if not, thousands of dollars for a new 240V circuit. Instead, EV drivers plug the outlet splitter into an existing outlet to share that circuit with the dryer or water heater in the garage.

When the car is ready to charge, power will be directed to the EV charger. When the appliance needs juice, the Smart Splitter will redirect power to the other outlet.

There is no need for the user to plug and unplug or flip any switches. It all happens seamlessly through NeoCharge’s integrated software.

Smart Splitter Works Well for Renters, Too!

Furthermore, this device is absolute must have for EV drivers who are renters who have access to an existing 240V outlet.

As a renter, it is completely cost prohibitive to install any permanent electrical (with owner permission) as once you leave the rental you leave behind any home upgrade that you paid for.

Instead, if there is an existing 240V outlet currently being used by another device, simply plug in the Smart Splitter to share that outlet with the EV charger.

When it is time to leave the rental, simply unplug the Smart Splitter. No electrician needed.

What If I Have Two EVs?

No problem! NeoCharge can configure the Smart Splitter to power two EV chargers. Of course, only one is powered at a time, however, two cars can easily recharge one at a time overnight.

Since most people only drive 40 miles or less per day, each EV only needs a few hours to charge. With the Smart Splitter, the device will power one car charger until 100%, then it will power the other charger.

There is no need for switching car charger plugs or unplugging and replugging chargers. The Smart Splitter conveniently takes care of all of that for you!

Where Can You Buy One?

The Smart Splitter can be purchased on NeoCharge’s website. Currently, it sells for $450, however, through an affiliate deal, you can take $30 off by using our coupon code CHARGEDFUTURE

At a net cost of $420, the Smart Splitter can save EV owners hundreds of dollars by abating the need to hire an electrician to install a new 240V. Plus, renters, too, can enjoy to simple plug and play of the outlet splitter.

Again, use the promo code CHARGEDFUTURE for $30 off!

Closing Thoughts

The Smart Splitter by NeoCharge is one great invention to help EV owners save money on their home charging solution. In addition to the NeoCharge, drivers will still need a Level 2 home EV charger.

Popular brands are Chargepoint, Clipper Creek, Grizzl-E, Enel X, and Blink. Depending on features, these cost around $300 to $700.

If ordered and installed before the end of 2020, individuals and businesses can claim a 30% tax credit.
